Mono Cliffs Part I

Image
Sometimes you just have to get out of town for a few hours. I went up Mono Cliffs for a hike and as always the trip up is half the fun, in a good way. Camera: Nikon F2S, Nikkor Pre Ai Lenses, Film: Ilford HP5 400, HC110 B,

Walking Harbourfront Part II

Image
The best times to visit Harbourfront if you're thinking of taking pictures is from mid to late afternoon to about dusk. Packing a polarizer is a must when by the water. Camera: Nikon F2A, Nikkor AIS 35 f2 lens. Film: Fuji Pro 400H.

Walking Along Harbourfront

Harbourfront is a great place to wander around with a camera in hand. I haven't been here in a couple of years. The last time other than the checking the area out for the June Oakville Camera Club outing was a few years ago, this time out I shot colour because sometimes you need a break from black and white. Camera: Nikon F2A, Nikkor Lenses. Film: Fuji Pro 400H

Wandering the West End Part II, Getting to the St. George Campus

Image
It's a good 5.8KM walk from Exhibition GO station to the UofT St. George Campus, think of it as at least three neighbourhoods I wandered through. I'm sad to see the Elmo is up for sale again, the storied rock venue has seen it's ups and downs over the years. It would disheartening to see another local musical landmark disappear. Camera: Nikon F2A, Nikkor AIS 35 f2 lens, Film: Ilford HP5 400, HC110 B. The Elmocambo is a long time Toronto music venue, unfortunately closed and up for sale, again. The stage has seen many acts including the Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello and several friends bands over the decades.

Wandering the West End Before Class Part One.

Image
On occasion I'll get a stop off early in Liberty Village instead of Toronto Union Station and walk my way up to the St. George Campus for night class. In this case I wanted to test out my Nikon F2A after it got an adjustment done on it's light meter. On this little photo walk I went with the one camera and one lens in this case a Nikkor Ais 35 f2, one I don't use much but I should use more often. From the results you see below, it's the perfect city lens, slightly wider than normal but not too wide you get distortion. Now walking up from Exhibition Station I can't believe how much the west end has evolved over the past 15 years especially around Trinity Bellwoods Park, most of the single family homes are now selling around the million dollar level. It got quieter as I got closer to College St. as the World Cup Soccer was on TV and Italy was playing at the time. Camera: Nikon F2A, Nikkor AIS 35 f2 lens. Film: Ilford HP5 400, HC110 B.
