Bloor West Village Ukranian Fest. Some interesting subject matter here. The Bloor West Village Ukranian Festival is billed as the largest outside of the Ukraine. They have dancers, bands and lots of people wearing peasant blouses. What was odd was hearing a Ukranian cover of the old Eagles hit Hotel California (or should it be Hotel Crimea?). I think the old timers would not even get that. I had fun blending in with the crowd and documenting the events. This is the midway part of the posting along with the shot of Toronto mayor David Miller working the crowd.

A family posting, Shots of my brother Alex and nephew Marcus. I took these two weeks ago with a Pentax SV, Agfa APX 400 film shot at box speed and processed in 1:50 Rodinal. I can believe how fast Marcus is growing up, it's making me feel old all of a sudden.

Bright colours, the hallmark of Fuji Velvia 100 slide film. I am a convert for slide film for colour photography. I got smart and requested that the slides not to be mounted. That makes my life easier when it comes to scanning images with the flatbed scanner. Took these photos two weeks ago in Toronto's Portlands early Sunday morning with an Olympus OM-4 with a variety of Zuiko lenses. I am testing out slide film and I will be playing with some Kodachrome 64 a classic emulsion, please stay tuned.

I can't leave Classicpan 400 alone. I think I found a better combination for developing thanks to the Digital Truth Developing Chart. I pull the film down to 200 asa, and I process in Kodak HC110 Dilution B for seven minutes and thirty seconds. Not as contrasty as Rodinal which is my favourite developer. I am going to use this for a couple of rolls to see if there is consistancy. The photos were taken in Bronte and the bottom photo is my friend Derik. The camera used was a Minolta XE-7 with a MC Rokkor 5 f1.4 and 135 f2.8 lenses.

Reuban Wilson and friends as shot while performing at the Oakville Jazz Festival. I used my Nikon F2 and 105 f2.5 Telephoto lens with Ilford Delta 3200.

Scenes from a Buzz Deluxe and KC and the Moonshine Band gig at the end of July. I used an Olympus OM-4 with Ilford Delta 3200 film developed in Rodinal 1:25. I used mostly a 50 Zuiko lens on this outing.

Output from my new toy a Minolta XE-7. I got it in a moment of weakness off ebay for about $100 along with a MC Rokkor 50 f1.4 lens. What a steal, now here is the dirty little secret, the Leica R3 is based on this camera. I used Agfa Silvertone 400 pulled down to 200 developing in 1:50 Rodinal.
