Happy Canada Day, Scenes from a Hike in Silver Creek Conservation Area.

Image
Happy Canada Day!  Well, what you see here was shot a few weeks ago on a week day morning hike just north of Georgetown at Silver Creek Conservation Area. Nature keeks me sane particularly in these dark times, I felt decommressing while driving up Trafalgar Road.  Even just with the morning hike my friend James and I explored only a portion of the conservation area. My game plan is to get a lot of hiking in this Summer because it's pretty much a staycation year. I go during the week because the trails are quiet. I rolled with my Canon New F-1 AE and Bergger Pancro 400, a great combination. I went with this particular film as it's super wide tonal range would help me with the highlights. I'm planning to top up my 35mm and 120 stocks later in the year, because, it's the tonality.  If you can where you live, get out and hike in nature, it will help you stay sane during these interesting times, and again, Happy Canada Day!  Camera: Canon New F-1 AE, FDn lenses.  Fil...

New Year in the Beaches One

Image
This past New Year's I stayed at my brother's place to look after Maya and of course, I walk around with my camera gear. The weather didn't feel all that wintery, more like late November, in fact it felt more like Winter in November. The weather to be honest was choose how you describe the grey skies. So it's black and white film only and in some cases pushed to 1600. In this case I shot box speed and stay in when it was really miserable with rain. Camera: Canon New F-1 AE, FDn lenses. Film: Rollei RPX 400, HC110 B.

Riverside and the Borderline.

Toronto is defined by it's rivers and valleys, in this case while some say the border between east and west end Toronto is Yonge St. I've said this before it is the Don River, once you cross the bridge along Queen be it on foot, driving or on the 501 Streetcar, the vibe instantly changes. Camera: Canon New F-1 AE, FDn 50 f1.4 lens. Film: Ilford HP5 400 pushed to 1600, HC110 B.

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park in July

Never been north of Mono Cliffs Provincial Park before. Camera: Canon New F-1, FDn lenses. Film: kodak Tri-X 400, Xtol 1+1.

Around Mono Cliffs

I needed time away from the computer screen so a drive and hike in the country was in order, I needed that. This Summer has been super hot and hiking isn't fun in 40+c temperatures with the humidex factored in. Camera: Canon New F-1, FDn lenses. Film: Kodak Tri-X 400, Xtol 1+1.

Toronto West of Spadina

Exploring Toronto never gets tired, one part of town that's constantly changing is Graffitti Alley, I'm a little sad Tom and Jerry got tagged over. Camera: Canon F-1N AE, FDn 50 f1.4 and 28 f2.8 lens. Film: Lomography F-Squared 400
