Wandering, Friday September 28 Part One

Image
We did a little hiking but the weather was typical fall weather, just about everything, some sun, and some rain. We still wanted to head out, only we decided to see where Limberlost Road went. What would surprise a lot of people in the city is the Muskoka region still has an active logging industry and the access roads now become the way you get to your cottage. So we drive east towards Tasso Lake, which is the last lake before Algonquin Park, and there's more than one way in. We didn't go all the way into the park but we were close to the edge and found a trail that went around the northeast end of Tasso Lake, well we got distracted with some rapids we never made it all the way around. It was a really gloomy day threatening rain up until lunchtime, the neutral density filters didn't even need to come out of the camera bag. These photographs take me to that spot where all you hear is the water and the wind. There was no other noise in the woods. Camera: Olympus OM-2n...

Uxbridge Ontario Thursday September 27

I was on my way somewhere, up north. I always pass through Uxbridge. It feels like my real starting point in my journey, the mess that's the QEW/Gardiner Expressway/Don Valley Parkway is the temporary purgatory. Of course, when I roll through Uxbridge I love photographing the York Durham Heritage Railway and wander around downtown for a bit. Well just to warn you, there will be a bunch of image heavy post for the next few weeks. Sit back, pour a cup of coffee, your favourite beer, or glass of wine and enjoy the photographs.
