A Day in the Country with my Canon P Part One

Image
I went up to Caledon for the morning to pay my annual dues at the Caledon Ski Club and it was a great excuse to get out and do some shooting. i packed my Cnaon P rangefinder and my last roll of Kodak Pro Image 100.  This was a great combo, one camera, one lens and one roll of film. I like the Canon P, pity Canon rangefinders are starting to creep up in price because a Canon 7 would be nice to add to the collection/fleet.  Camera: Canon P, Canon 50 F1.8 LTM lens.  Film: Kodak Pro Image 100.

Belfountain on an October Sunday.

I was up in Belfountain a few weeks ago on my way to the Caledon Ski Club for it's Annual General Meeting. Nice day, it's fall, of course I packed a camera with some colour film. I went with my Asahi Pentax K2 and Kodak Color Plus 200. The camera and film are made for each other, end of story. I've talked about this camera elsewhere, it was Pentax's top of the line K mount body in the mid 1970s until the K2DMD came along. I could not believe how jam packed Belfountain was with day trippers. It's a double edged sword, local busiensses love the sales from people stopping, the locals are however getting a little tired dealing with the hordes of day trippers. I mentioend it elsewhere, I call it he BlogTO effect. I don't hike Forks of the Credit on weekends any more because it's too busy. The real treat was photographing a couple of vintage Volkswagans that rolled through on a weekend drive. Camera: Asahi Pentax K2, SMC Pentax M 50 f1.4 lens. Film: Kodak Co...

Winter Weather Arrives in Caledon Ontario Part One!

I really needed to get out of town for the day. I took advantage of the Caledon Ski Club opening up their lodges so members can drop their skis off in their lockers, so I headed north. Instead of shooting black and white I loaded one of my F2's with some Lomography F Squared 400 which I have mentioned in the past is repackaged Solaris 400 that was freezer stored for over a decade. I really hope Film Ferrania relaunches Solaris 400, I love the look I get from this film and I want to see what fresh stock looks like. My Nikons are my go to "get stuff done" cameras when I need the shot bang on, it was also a chance to take my 2018 Christmas Card shot. Camera: Nikon F2A, Nikkor Ai 50 f1.4 lens and Ais 28 f2.8 lens. Film: Lomography F Squared 400 (Solaris 400, expired)

A Day in the Country: Belfountain, Part 1.5

Not done with Belfountain by a long shot.  Camera: Leica M4-2, Canon 50 f1.4 LTM lens. Film: Ilford HP5 400, HC110 B.

A Day in the Country Part One: A Stop In Belfountain.

Image
The hamlet Belfountain is located within the regional municipality of Caledon Ontario roughly an hour's drive north west of Toronto and was overdue for a visit after a month of crappy weather and lingering cold from hell slowing me down. Odd thing on the Saturday of this past Victoria Day Weekend, it was pretty quiet. Usually if the weather is nice Belfountain is slammed with motorcyclists and day trippers. I enjoyed the tranquility while I had it. Camera: Leica M4-2, Canon 50 f1.4 LTM lens. Film: Ilford HP5 400, HC110 B.

Winter Part Three: The Last of the Post Ice Storm Shots.

Finally gone through the last of my post ice storm shots from over the Christmas holidays. I'm amazed at what I got out of this roll. Camera: Olympus OM-1md, various Zuiko lenses. Film: Kodak Tri-X400, Xtol 1+1.

Landscapes with Hasselblads

Image
Camera: Hasselblad 500CM, Zeiss 80 f2.8 Planar lens. Film: Ilford Delta 100, HC110 Dilution B. Location Belfountain Conservation Area Hasselblads while considered a studio camera is really good for doing landscapes. I'm still blown away at how nice the images look with that magic combination of lens, film and developer.
