Street Fest Part of Beaches Jazz Fest Toronto Camera Club Photo Walk.

Street Fest part of the month long Beaches Jazz Festival is an amazing opportunity for street photography, granted a few things to consider, eat dinner early because every patio along Queen Street East was slammed with patrons.  We started at Queen and Woodbine with Samba Squad and the group split up around Ivan Forest Gardens due to the crowds and the heat as the city was under a head advisory for the month. I finished the roll and double back to Woodbine along the lake to catch the bus home.  Camera: Nikon F100, Nikon AFS 50 F1.8 G Lens.  Film: Ilford HP5 400 pushed to 1600, Ilfotec HC 1+15.

Nikon AFS 50 F1.8 G Lens on my Nikon F100

One camera and one lens has been a recurring exercise for me, this time around I was testing out a recent addition to the autofocus lens collection. I currently have 50mm lenses both Nikon AF-D, meaning the lens has and aperture ring, but if you are shooting with an F100, F5, F6 etc, you have to lock the ring and use the front or back menu dials. The AFS G series 50 F1.8 doesn't have the aperture ring which means you can't use the lens to its full potential on the F90X, F4 and older autofocus cameras.  The AFS 50 F1.8 G is a sharp easy to use lens on the F100, they were made for each other making one very sophisticated point and shoot. I shot around my neighbourhood and down in Yorkville ending up at Rosedale Subway Station. I chose to shoot with Bergger Pancro 400 as I'm still sitting on several rolls and I'd better use them up sooner than later as they are at their best before date.  Camera: Nikon F100, Nikon AFS 50 F1.8 G lens.  Film: Bergger Pancro 400, Ilfotec ...
