Minden Ontario Part One.

Image
Minden Ontario is a former lumber town turned regional centre in Haliburton Region and is very busy during the peak cottage season. I pass through during the fall when its much quieter. I made note to photograph the Rockliffe Tavern as it as been boarded up. I recently found it it has changed hands, the business will live on, but the building will replaced because it's pretty much condemned due to neglect over the past 20 years. Freaktography did a documentary recently   on the history behind the building as a long running tavern and live music venue in the Haliburtons.  Camera: Nikon FM2n, Nikkor Ais 50 f1.8 lens.  Film: Eastman Double X, ID-11 1+1.

Early April Just Before the Stay at Home Order

Image
This has been a weird spring so far, year two of the pandemic on multiple fronts. We got officially sent back to our rooms with a stay at home order Easter Weekend. I managed to wander around my brother Alex's neighbourhood in the Beaches before dinner. I ran with one of my Olympus OM-2n's and a roll of Eastman Double X. I've only shot this film on bright sunny days, overcast days this film holds its own.  Olympus OM-2n, Zuiko S 50 f1.4 lens, Zuiko MC 28 F2.8 lens.  Film: Eastman Double X 250, ID-11 1+1.

Shooting with the Nikon F2AS and #FP4Party Part Two

What's there to say about Ilford FP4, it's a classic cubic grained film that's been around forever beloved by photographers the world over and delivers results in any film developer you have. In my case it was Ilford's version of D76 ID-11 one part water on part stock solution which has been my go to of late.  I shot this over the course of two days, partly on a walk home from downtown Oakville and the harbour past my old high school long decommisioned and awaiting restoration and repurposing, and partly when my friend Dana and her daughter stopped by and we went down to Gairloch Gardens. I love what I got out of this roll, the unplanned expense of having to replace the DP-12 meter head was worth it.  Camera: Nikon F2AS, Nikkor Ais 35 f2 lens, Ai 105 f2.5 lens.  Film: Ilford FP4 125, ID-11 1+1.
