Gone Skiing Part Two

Image
Skiing is my winter escape, I've been skiing so long each winter I have to think for a minute how long I've been doing it. I love the smell of cold air,  burning firewood and frenchfry grease mixing together when skiing by either the Main or West Hill chalets, I didn't get that smell so much this winter as it hasn't really been all that cold. Well, what can you do? I'm reloading my Rollei 35 with some Kodak Max 400 or Pro Image 100 and capture the back half of the season. Stay tuned. The bottom photos of the Melville White Church is all that remains of the hamlet of Melville and is  one of those landmarks that remind you skiing, or hiking other times of the year is not far away. Camera: Rollei 35, 40 f3.5 Zeiss Tessar lens Film: Ilford Delta 100, HC110 B.

Until Next Year

The old saying goes starts with all good things.... the drive back home Sunday was uneventful if tinged with a bit of meloncholy. With the grey skies Dorset was quiet and it was the last weekend for the vintage tour boat SS Bigwin before being brought out of the water for the winter months. Camera: Nikon FE2, Nikkor Ai 50 f2 lens Film: Kodak Portra 400

King West Another Part of my Ghost City

Image
King St. between Spadina and Bathurst is a lot cleaner than it used to be. In the early 1990s it used to be the dwindling hub for the garment trade and head offices/showrooms for differnent distributors before they moved to the 905 region. All the old buildings have mostly been restored and filled with advertising/PR agencies and tech firms. Even then there are proposeals for high rise developments, time marches on.... Camera: Nikon F2S, Nikkor S.C. 50 f1.4 lens. Film: Fomapan 400, HC110 B.

Caledon on the Edge of Spring

Image
Spring's arrival is a little bittersweet. Winter's done and I we got more light and it is starting to warm up. I also have to say goodbye to this year's ski season. It was fun, and I got my money's worth out of my Caledon Ski Club annual membership. On to new adventures. Camera: Nikomat FTn, Nikkor O 35 f2 lens. Film: Kodak Max 400
