Rollei RPX 400 in 120 Through a Rolleiflex

Image
Rollei RPX 400 through a Rolleiflex sounds kinda meta, but it's a nice match. I've shot kilometres of this film in 35mm but never in 120 until now. As mentioned previously, Bergger Pancro 400 is thin on the ground at the moment. So I grab what brick I could get, well I grabbed a dozen rolls in 120, its that realization I should have bought two bricks (20 rolls). This film develops great in HC110 Dilution B, I'll have to try in ID-11 1+1 at some point. That will be soon.  Also note I used my older of the two Rolleiflexes. It has a 75mm F3.5 Zeiss Planar lens, now this is where things get murky with the camera serial number on the camera and the meter that was built on the camera makes it either a C or E series depending which Rolleiflex website you consult. At this point it will be interchangable at my end. Either way it's a great camera that just continues to deliver.  Camera: Rolleiflex 3.5 C (or E depending who you talk to) Planar TLR.  Film: Rollei RPX 400, HC110...

Rolleiflex and Colour

Since I got my 3.5 F Planar Rolleiflex in a trade from fellow film photographerfrom the Niagara region Bryan Caporicci  my 3.5 C Planar Rollei hasn't been used as much. I've owned this particular camera for 10 years and has been on several adventures, at first I thought it was an E series but the serial number told a different story. The 3.5C was the first Rolleiflex with an on board meter which was selenium powered. the reality is, if they are working at all would need a lot of calibration. In the end I just pack a hand held meter or go with my iPhone if I'm really stuck.  The only thing I would like to change is replace the OEM focusing screen with an aftermarket Maxwell sceren which is done during an overhaul. Sadly here in Canada there aren't many options for people working on Rolleiflexes. Mine could use a tune up, it's on my agenda once the pandemic winds down.  In mean time the camera still works well, I just have to use it more often.  Camera: Rolleiflex 3.5...

Old Oakville Below Robinson St.

I took my 3.5 C Rolleiflex out last week. I haven't used it in ages since the 3.5 F Rolleiflex came into my possession back in the spring. To shake things up I shot a roll of Portra 400 I've been shooting mostly black and white during this grey season and haven't shot any medium format since my annual Muskoka photography retreat. This set is all local, all below Robinson St. which is a really tight space to focus photography and I've shot around here for years to the point of being bored. Now shooting a Rollei with colour film in early December a rather bleak time of year, there's no sugar coating it. Camera: Rolleiflex 3.5 C Planar Twin Lens Reflex camera. Film: Kodak Portra 400
