JCH Street Pan 400 In My Neighbourhood

Image
Two things have been re enforced with me, one JCH Street Pan 400 is a great lousy day film and shooting around your own neighbourhood is tough if you lived there a long time... Camera: Nikkormat FTn, Nikkor H 50 f2 and 28 f3.5 lens. Film: Japan Camera Hunter Street Pan 400, HC110 B.

Happy New Year from the Beaches Part One

Image
As you note, there's no snow on the ground, otherwise I would be skiing. Instead I spent New Year's at my brother's place in the Beaches in Toronto house and dog sitting. Along with the lack of the white stuff, there was nothing but non stop cloud cover, in fact it had been like that since Christmas. The Beaches by the lake take on a whole new personality off season, even more so without the snow and ice. I work with what I had and enjoyed the change of scenery. What did you do photography wise this past Christmas? Camera: Nikon F2 Photomic, Nikkor S 50 f1.4 lens, Nikkor H 28 f3.5 lens. Film: Ilford HP5 400, HC110 B.

Downtown Toronto in Colour

Image
I love shooting with my oldest Nikon F, it belonged to my dad and dates from late 1960 if I got the serial number right. This never came with an on board light meter so I used a hand held Sekonic L398a  and never get a bad exposure. Of course silly me forgot my lens hoods for both the the 28mm and 24mm lenses so I got some flare to contend with. At one point I would have been freaking out with that, now I've made piece with some imperfection. Of course I decide to do some street photography with colour film just to be different. One thing that really surprised me as how quiet it was on a late Monday afternoon in early June. Camera: Nikon F, Nikkor H 28 f3.5 lens, Nikkor N 24 f2.8 lens. Film: Fuji Pro 400H

Beautiful Day Three

Image
I'm taking the day off tomorrow and go for a nice long walk weather permitting. Saturday is going to be miserable, I'll catch up then. Camera: Nikon F Photomic Tn, Nikkor S 50 f1.4 and H 28 f3.5 lens. Film: ORWO UN 54 100, Xtol 1+1,

Post Christmas Photowalk Part Three

I really have to wrap this series up, there's lot of neat images I want to show you soon. Walking around Boxing Day allows me to document an environment I move through once a week usually on my way to University of Toronto's St. George Campus. Documenting the construction chaos at Union Station without the commuters is a rare treat. Camera: Nikon FM, mostly the Nikkor H 28 f3.5 lens, Film: kodak Tri-X400 processed in Xtol 1+1.

Boxing Day Downtown Photowalk Part Two and Happy New Year

More from the Boxing Day photo walk downtown, I forgot how much I liked urban photography. I want to wish all my regulars and new visitors a very Happy New Year and I hope 2014 brings great promise to everyone. A little off topic, I'm in marketing communications when I don't have a camera in my hand on in the darkroom and have been doing some professional development over the past few months to fill in the gaps with my social media knowledge so I can say I'm a digital strategist and not just playing one on TV.  My studies in University of Toronto's  Digital Strategy and Communications Management certificate program re-invigorated my blog.  Secondly I took a peak under the blog's hood and found out I was averaging over a 1200 views a month on average, that statistic blew my mind, thank you. My classmates from the first course blogged on a variety of topics and please check them out. Camera: Nikon FM, Nikkor H 28 f3.5 or Ai 50 f2 lens Film: Kodak Tri-X 400, Xt...
