Erin, Small Town Ontario in the Summer

Image
Erin Ontario is in Wellington County halfway between Orangeville and Guelph and would be sort of a regional centre of sorts. Erin used to have a branch line formerly Credit Valley Railway/Canadian Pacific that went from Cataract in Caledon to Elora where the route terminated. That got yanked up 30 years ago and is now a rail trail loved by gravel cyclists.  I've driven through Erin on the way to the Caledon Ski Club all the time in the winter and I have photographed on occasion. As a small town its pretty healthy with some industry and with commuters going down to "Pill Hill" in Northern Mississauga. The big downside with Erin is the main drag is an arterial road between village on Highway 10 and Guelph, and there trucks, lots of trucks, some carrying goods, others are hauling gravel from local quarries in neighbouring Caledon. It's perma rush hour with the amount of traffic passing through.  Camera: Mamiya C220F Twin Lens Reflex Camera,  Sekor 80 F2.8 lens.  F...

Been a while since I used my Mamiya C220F, a great stripped down Twin Lens Reflex camera compared to the 330F and uses the same lens system. On a bright early summer's day I loaded up some Catlabs X Film 80 because that film loves bright contrasty sunshine. The creamy rendering from Mamiya Sekor glass is something else.  Camera: Mamiya C220F Twin Lens Reflex Camera. Sekor 80 F2.8 lens, Sekor 55 F4.5 lens.  Film: Catlabs X Film 80, Ilfotec HC 1+31.

I'm part of a new challenge and zine collaboration put together by Dan Novak, this time focusing on Twin lens reflex cameras and one particular film stock. The parameters are a little convoluted but I'm rolling with my Mamiya C220f and original production Fuji Neopan Acros 100. We have to come up with three rolls make contact sheets, then choose two photos for the zine from that. I have 18 rolls of OG Acros 100 left, I'm going to be whittling down to three for the purposes of this project. I plan to make a zine of my own from this combination and show up in my Blurb store at some point. What you will see here on my blog is my warm up work. The final results will only be in the TLR Challenge Zine.  Camera: Mamiya C220f, Sekor 80 F2.8 blue dot lens. Film: Fuji Neopan Acros 100, D76 1+1
