Rolleiflex 3.5 F TLR in the Beaches and Kodak Portra 400

Image
Oh boy colour negative film through a Rolleiflex with Zeiss Planar glass is glorious. I've been getting much better shooting with the Rolleinar 2 and getting close ups with flowers. I love what I got of this particular roll of Portra 400, in medium format, this film sings.  Camera: Rolleiflex 3.5 F Planar Twin Lens Reflex Camera.  Film: Kodak Portra 400

A lost Roll of Portra 400 from a Past Muskoka Trip, now Found.

Image
Back on a trip to Northern Muksoka back in fall 2017, I lost an exposed roll of Portra 400 from a hike around Solitaire Lake inside the Limberlost Nature Preserve. I thought it fell out of the camera bag somewhere and was lost forever. Then two weeks I ago I wanted to load up my chrome Olympus OM-2n for a photowalk in Toronto, guess what I found, the lost roll of Portra all rewound and ready for processsing. For some reason I didn't reach for my chrome OM-2n last year or I would have discovered it sooner. The film held up well at room temperature for two years after exposure. So here you go, another look into one of my favourite hikes in Ontario around Solitaire Lake. Yes the cabins are available to rent. Camera: Olympus OM-2n, Zuiko lenses. Film: Kodak Portra 400.

Mid Winter Photography in Caledon Continued

Image
I had an opportunity to shoot my nephew Marcus on the Timber Tour when it stopped at the Caledon Ski Club a few weeks ago. It gave me to try out a zoom telephoto I bought the year before, it's great for sports photography, and the N90s was perfect for it. These shots were on Friday, the practice day. Marcus sadly came down with Strep throat and couldn't compete Saturday. I'm still proud he can pull jumps like this. I don't ski with my camera gear too often anymore, there's one particular lift operator who has a hate on for the camera bag I use and channels his inner mall cop. Meanwhile ski patrolers wearing backpacks are ignored. Truth of the matter, I don't need the hassle, I've been skiing longer than this guy has been alive, I know what an acceptable risk is, and choose my gear carefully. Camera: Nikon N90s, Nikkor AFD 70-210 F4-5.6 lens, Af 50 f1.8 lens. Film: Kodak Portra 400
