Niagara On the Lake Fall 2024 Part Two

Image
The Nine Element 28 F2.8 "Elmarit" lens from Light Lens Lab is a what I would consider a must buy for a serious Leica shooter, collectors will have seizures becuase this lens exists at all. I love how this lens renders colour film. I can't recommend it enough. Just don't use it on a CL or M5, bad things will happen and lead to tears and regret along with being scolded by a Leica repair tech.  The only sad part is not being able to visit Niagara on the Lake quite as often as I used when living in Oakville.     Camera: Leica M4-2, Light Lens Labs Nine Element 28 F2.8 Lens.  Film: Fuji Superia 400, processed by Graination Lab.

Niagara on the Lake Fall 2024 Part One.

Jo-Anne and I went down to Niagara on the Lake a few weeks ago and it was a chance for me to try out the Light Lens Lab Nine Element 28 F2.8 lens, their tribute to the nine element 28 F2.8 Elmarit Leica launched in the 1960s. I am a huge fanboy of the Eight Element 35 F2 and the Elcan 50 F2 lenses Light Lens Lab make, both are tributes to classic Leica M mount lenses that not easy to find and are quite espensive in the collector market (especially the Elcan 50 F2).  What I found is, Light Lens Lab glass loves colour negative film, yes I've shot black and white as well with these leneses but for some reason, colour just pops. Its when you find lenses that work for you, I mean really work for you, its like finding the perfect tool for the job and then some.  Camera: Leica M4-2, Light Lens Lab Nine element  28 F2.8 Lens, Elcan 50 F2 lens.  Film: Fuji Superia 400, processed by Graination Lab.

Cabbagetown October 2024

Cabbagetown is always a fun photo walk at different times of the year, looks great in both colour or black and white. The neighbourhood is juxtaposition of quaint restored houses and a shopping street that's still a bit gritty and a pocket affluence between St. James Town and Regent Park.  Camera: Nikon F5, Nikon AF-D 28-105 F3.5-4.5 Zoom Lens.  Film: Kodak Ektachrome 100 Slide Film, E-6 processed by Graination.
