Leftovers from Last Summer.

Image
Leftover negatives from last July, just got around to scanning them now and I'm still not a huge fan of Kodak Tmax 100. If I want super smooth, I'll take Fuji Neopan Acros 100 in 120 any day of the week.  Camera: Rolleiflex Series 3.5 E Planar Twin Lens Reflex Camera.  Film: Kodak Tmax 100, HC110 B.

Embrace the Grain Podcast June Film Challenge: Fomapan 100 Part One

Image
I don't do monthy film challenges too often but Embrace the Grain Film Podcast Community has one on for June with Fomapan 100, I had a few rolls, why not? The camera of choice was the Nikon F2 Photomic with a three lens set up, the NC 28 F2, SC 50 f1.4 and the P 105 F2.5 lenses. All solid glass that just don't fail. I shot both in the morning mid day and late afternoon over the course of a couple of days. The developer of choice was ID-11 at 1+1, an old school developer with a fine grained old school cubic grained film. The results look beautiful.  Unrelated, why ruin a nice 30 year old Audi Coupe with a vehicle wrap advertising your vehicle wrap business?  Camera: Nikon F2 Photomic, Pre Ai Nikkor lenses.  Film: Fomapan 100, ID-11 1+1.

Tamron Zoom Telephoto lens and Olympus OM-1md.

There are crap zoom lenses and quality zoom lenses in the third party category. I talked about the Polaris recently, it didn't set the world on fire in terms of optics but what you expect from 51 year old lens technology. Lets fast forward a decade or so. Tamron was doing some interesting things with their Adaptall mount, which if you had a camera collection that covered Nikon, Canon, Minolta and Olympus for sake of argument, you can have one telephoto zoom lens, and multiple lens mounts.  I have the OM Zuiko 60-200 F4 zoom, it's decent glass, but after shooting with the Tamron SP 70-210 F3.5-F4 Zoom, I think this might be a better lens. First off its two touch meaning more precise focusing and zero chance of getting lens creep. The bane of every push-pull zoom lens. The big bonus with the Tamron over say a Kiron buit Vivitar Series One is the more compact dimensions. The end results speak for themselves and I should use this more often and try it for portraits. Now before yo...

Late May in Oakville

It was unsually warm in Oakville this late May, I didn't mind one bit if Summer comes a little early.  Camera: Olympus OM-1md, MC Zuiko 50 f1.8 lens Film: Ilford Delta 100, HC110 B.
