Oakville, Fall 2021, Ektar 100

Even with Kodak's colour film price increase, I can live without shooting Portra 400, Ektar 100 however, I'll be willing to pony up the cash every time. This film delivers the closest look to Kodachrome I'm going to find on the market, we know that slide film isn't coming back but we have something close to play with and it's a colour negative film. I think going forward I'm shooting my colour film through my autofocus bodies like the F90X, F100 and F4 (yes I shoot with manual focus lenses on that camera) for the more accurate matrix metering.  Camera: Nikon F90X, Nikkor AF-D 28-105 F3.5-4.5 Macro Zoom Lens.  Film: Kodak Ektar 100

Summer Time, A Mamiya C220f and Fuji Neopan Acros 100.

Nothing beats shooting Acros 100 through a Mamiya Twin Lens Reflex Camera, in this case the C220f on a bright sunny day.  Camera: Mamiya C220f, Sekor 80 F2.8 lens.  Film: Fuji Neopan Acros 100, ID-11 1+1.

Out For a Wander with an Olympus OM-1md.

The big plus living close to the lake, is well, being close to the lake in the Summer time. I've been going down by the water and it has helped me cope with the pandemic and just plain craziness that has gone down this year. Gairloch Gardens in particular has been my sanctuary, almost an extenstion of my backyard of sorts.  Camera: Olympus OM-1md, Zuiko lenses.  Film: Ilford Delta 100, HC110 B.

Part Two: The Wander Down and Back from the Other Neighbourhood Waterfront Refuge

Edgemere Promanade is not as well known as Gairloch and it's about a 15 min walk from my house in Southeast Oakville. The strip of land was severed when the Edgemere Estate was redeveloped into condo mansions 10 years ago. I'm glad the town played hardball with the developer, access  to the water is great for the soul, also an opportunity to walk along the bottom of Wedgewood Creek which is more a channel with stone walls each side.  Eastman Double X changes personality when the sun is out becoming more crisper but still with a fine grain. This is nice film and it's coming up with me to Northern Muskoka this year.  Camera: Asahi Pentax K2, SMC Pentax K 55 F1.7 lens.  Film: Eastman Double X, ID-11 1+1.
