Scotsdale Farm in Black and White Part One
Why haven't I been here before? I have driven past Scotsdale Farm for years, no, decades on the way to skiing or hikes and elsewhere. This hidden gem is part of the Bruce Trail network but is not a conservation area per se like Silver Creek or Limehouse which I have been hiking a lot this past year. As per th name this use to be a 531 scre working farm that was gifted by the owners that was gifted to the Ontario Heritage Trust in 1982. The Bennett side Trail named after the farm owners hooks into the Bruce Trail, What's great about Scotsdale Farm is you can hike on the property and it's a pretty gentle 6.5 km, or you can scale up by taking another side trail that crosses 8th Line that will eventually deposit you into Silver Creek Conservation Area and you can do a 10.5 km loop with more challenging terrain into the mix.
