Beaches Overcast

Image
So I still had a half roll of Ektar left after the Bluffs, I went out Tuesday morning. The skies were overcast, I made my way along the boardwalk and the Beaches have a totally different vibe during the week if the weather is less than stellar. In fact by the time I got to the local Beach Institution The Goof, a nasty thunderstorm was like five minutes from starting. I got what I needed and took shelter inside Remarkable Bean across the street for a cup of dark roast. Camera: Olympus OM-4, Zuiko lenses. Film: Kodak Ektar 100

Bluffer's Park

I don't get to Scarborough often. I visited the Bluffs last Summer and this year of course had to come back for more. I showed up Monday morning the day of the solar eclipse, I wanted to get the shots I wanted and be back at my brother's place before it commenced. Lake Ontario was dead calm, then all of a sudden the waters started to ripple on their own, there was no breeze to speak of. The time to go is a Monday morning because from what I understand from a friend who lives up on the Bluffs, weekends are zoo in the park. Camera: Olympus OM-4, Zuiko lenses. Film: Kodak Ektar 100

Uxbridge Ontario

I've always driven through Uxbridge but never had a chance to stop and look around. A lunch date gave me that excuse and I have come back up here at some point in the fall to explore some more and pay another visit to Second Wedge Brewing company . Camera: Olympus OM-4, Zuiko Lenses Film: Rollei RPX 100, Xtol 1+1.

I haven't really strayed far from Oakville-Toronto this Summer, the weather has been awful hence very little from the countryside this year and no hikes. Shooting in the city is fun but I need a change of scenery on occasion. I drove up to Uxbridge to drop some prints off and have lunch with my friend Spring Reilly  who has been part of the annual Muskoka trip crew for the past few years. It also afforded me an opportunity to explore northeast of the GTA for the day. Camera: Olympus OM-4, Zuiko 50 f1.4 lens. Film: Rollei RPX 100, Xtol 1+1.

The Single Digit Olympus OM Camera Experience

Originally published on the Film Shooters Collective May 19, 2016 Within the Film Shooters Collective I know there are few photographers that have at least one Olympus OM body within their kit. I'm not only a film shooter but also a camera collector with an extensive collection including Nikon, Pentax Screwmounts, a pair of  Leica M rangefinders , a  Minolta SRT 102 , Canon FD gear and a whole bunch of Olympus. I currently own three OM-1s, an MD and an N model, a pair of OM-2n’s that work like a dream, another one that's a paperweight and one pristine OM-4.  Over the years my OM bodies have travelled extensively. They've been skiing with me in the winter, hiking other times of the year, spent much time in my briefcase on my many trips into Toronto (so I can do some shooting before or after business meetings or night class) and on a week long trip to New York City back in 2012.  Olympus has always made interesting gear, including a TLR (if you can find one), ...
