Nikon F Photomic Tn, Out For a Spin

Image
Been ages since I shot with my Nikon F Photomic Tn, pre move from Oakville actually. I've owned this one for over 20 years and consider this camera the one that nudged me firmly into the Nikon universe after shooting with my first Canon AE-1. I've shot kilometers of film through my Photomic Tn including Kodachrome 64 and Agfa APX 100 and 400. Some films are no longer with us but the F Photomic Tn endures to see new films like Rollei RPX series of films.  Please note I shot with the Nikkor H 50 F2 not the S 50 F2 which lives on my dad's early F. Anyway sliced the Nikkor 50 F2 lenses is sharp glass. These lenses live on my F's, F2's and Nikkormats.  I hope to have another 20 years with this camera that put me into the Nikon universe.  Camera: Nikon F Photomic Tn, Nikkor H 50 F2 lens.  Film: Rollei RPX 400, Rollei Supergrain 1+15.

Leica IIIg in the Downtown Core

So why not try the Leica screw mount namesake on the IIIg, technically it was period correct, compared to say the 50 F2.5 Color Skopar from Voigtlander. The Nikkor H 50 F2 cemented Nippon Kogaku's reputation as a lens maker and was shipped on Japanese Leica copies called Nicca. Saw one at the June Toronto Film Shooters Photo Walk and, resisting the urge for yet another rabbit hole.  The Nikkor H 50 F2 is sharp glass in Leica Screw Mount (LTM/M39) and loves both colour and black and white film. The IIIg was a fun camera to shoot with wandering around downtown Toronto. The dual focusing and view finding windows were easy to get used to and with contemparay shutter speeds ...
