First Colour Roll of the Year, Elektra 100

Been ages since I shot colour, don't know, I was in a black and white mood all winter.  I loaded up one of my Nikon F2AS bodies with some FlicFilm Elektra 100 which is respooled Kodak Aerocolor IV surveillance film. Unlike consumer film or motion picture stock, Elektra 100 is on a polyester base, while thin, will not tear while inside the camera which is both a good, and bad thing. Good as in you won't have a delicate acetate base breaking on you (that has happened to me on a rare occasion). The bad thing, if the polyester based film doesn't quite rewind all the way back into the cannister, don't force it as the camera will break before the film.  Outside that, Elektra 100 is fun to shoot with. I love the colour palatte it produces, the only caveat being a polyester based film, load it in near dark to reduce the chance of light piping.  Camera: Nikon F2AS, Nikkor Ai mount Lenses.  Film: Flic Film Elektra 100 (Kodak Aerochrome IV 100). Elektra 100, Revisited in my Nikon FM3a.

The one thing I don't like about Flic Film Elektra 100 (Aerocolor IV) is the light piping at the beginning and end of the film courtesy the polyester base. Don't have that problem with Adox CHS 100 II film, or even JCH Streetpan 400. Otherwise, a rather fun colour film to shoot with, just be choosy which camera you shoot with.  Camera: Nikon FM3a, Nikkor Ais lenses.  Film: Flic Film Elektra 100 (Eastman Kodak Aerocolor IV), processed by Graination Lab.
