Damn this film is good, especially with portraits, for example my friend Trevor near the bottom, he's giddy as he became the proud owner of a Nikon F5 that has been through the hands of a few members of the Classic Camera Revival podcast team over the years. Forget cartridges, I'm buying some bulk rolls of this film.

Nikon FE2, The Perfect manual Focus Camera from the 1980s?

The 1980s was an interesting era for camera technology, autofocus was in the wings and there was a race to get a chunk of what I would call the casual photography market, both Canon with their AE-1 Program and Minolta with their X-700 battled for that market segment to the death.

Nikon on the other hand had other ideas, while they had the fully featured FA which featured matrix metering and a boatload of other features including an LCD meter read out just like the F3, the FE2 was aimed at advanced amateurs who just wanted a bombproof camera that had aperture priority capability and full manual control. The magic was under the hood with off the plane metering for the SB series of flashes.

Rollei 35 S, and Kodak Color Plus 200, I Figured Out the Sweet Spot.

Two things, Rollei 35's are addictive little cameras, I couldn't just have one. I traded in my Olympus OM-4 and a Nikkor AF-D Telephoto zoom lens for a Made in Singapore Rollei 35 S with the 40 f2.8 Zeiss Sonnar lens. Oh boy, these photos are sharp as all get out. Instead of shooting black and white I rolled with Kodak Color Plus 200. To expand on my comments on shooting a Rollei 35 regardless the lens it has. They can be fiddly cameras to load because you load from right to left because of the left handed film advance. This may or may not be a problem for you. The other thing these cameras are over 45 years old so unless they have been overhauled recently, don't expect the meters to work or be accurate when they do, but that's what Sunny 16 and a smart phone light meter app is for if you really want to travel light.
