Doors Open Toronto 2023

This year's Doors Open, I wanted head somewhere else to explore and Billy Bishop Toronto Island Airport  (YTZ) beckoned. I flew out of here on Porter Airlines a while ago and as a passenger it was a pleasant experience compared the Pearson YYZ. This time around we went behind the scenes to visit the ORNGE Air Ambulance Service hanger and got up close to an Augsta Westland Air Ambulance Helicopter, they also fly STOL Pilatus planes for longer haul patient transfers but none were present. Afterward the Toronto Film Shooters gang checked out the snow removal gear, some charter aircraft on the other side of the fence, and the pest removal system (falcons and hawks) to keep birds away from the runways.

I ran with pushed HP5 to 1600 in one of my Nikon FE2's it was a nice set up, the other FE2 was loaded up with Ektar 100 for outside, stay tuned for that post. We didnt' get to the third location (TD Centre) but you do have leave something for next year.
