Holiday Season Photo Walk in the Beaches with Cinestill 800T

Image
The Grey Season hit hard over the Christmas holidays, we got a snowstorm on Boxing Day and a few days later when the Toronto Film Shooters Photowalk, it was even more gloomy. The weather forecast called for rain which thankfully held off until we arrived at The Stone Lion for lunch in the Beaches.  I rolled with colour film specfically Cinestill 800T, which I haven't shot with in a long time, and it was for long exposure night photography in Oakville through my Mamyia C220F. A Tungstan balanced fast colour film worked well a grim day. I mean the skies were buffed and polished concrete. I should try Kodak Vision 3 500T which is the motion picture stock base that Cinestill 800T is based on but still has the REM Jet layer on, though might change because Eastman Kodak introduced REM Jet layer less motion picture stock, who knows how it will play out.  Anyway sliced, I loved the results from Cinestill 800T. Leica R mount lenses handle this film really well. Loved the results...

Chirstmas Holidays in the Beaches.

Jo-Anne was up north visiting family in North Bay and I got called up for house and dog sitting duty in the Beaches over the Christmas Holidays. I took both my Leicaflex SL and 50th anniversary SL2 along with a 2 cam 35 F2.8 Elmarit lens (great glass I got for a steal, wish it was 3cam), 50 F2 Summicron and a two cam 135 F2.8 Tele Elmarit.  It was a green Christmas but followed by snow storm on Boxing Day, my brother and his family managed to fly out before Pearson International grounded flights. I drove down to the Beaches from Midtown Toronto and I couldn't see the other side of the Don Valley from the Millwood Bridge. You're wondering, where's the snow in your photos? Well, following day there was rain, lots of it. I shot all of three rolls in the Beaches. The Weather was pretty gloomy overall. In the end I caught up with a lot of reading, and walking Maya, my brotther's dog.  Camera: Leicaflex SL, 2 Cam R 50 F2 lens.  Film: Ilford HP5 500, 510 Pyro 1+100.  ...
