Toronto Film Shooters FB Group September Photo Walk Part One.
It was a fabulous day for a photo walk in late September (early fall), we started off in Riverdale at Riverdale Perk south of Withrow Park and the route was a meander over to Monarch Park and the Wren Tavern.
I ran with a Nikon F4S along with a second generation Nikon AF 24 F2.8 and 85 F1.8 and AF-D 35 F2 lenses. This was a great combination, I love my Nikon F4 and F4S, especially with C-41 colour film, in this case Lomography 400. The F4 was the bridge between the past and future during the F series pro bodies, and I love the tactileness of the controls, yet at the same time you got matrix metering, built in motor drive, you can still you use all your manual focus lenses even with matrix metering (you can't do that with the F90x, F100 and F5) and takes AA batteries you can find anywhere. What's not to love. Ok it does weigh like a boat anchor, aside from that, a very capable camera.
The big surprise was how nice the Lomo 400 looked, I'm not sure the expiry date, but this film looks amazing. Shooting recently with Fuji Pro 400 H, I realized that film gets funky after its best before date. What blew my mind is how vibrant the colours are in the two flower shots below.
Camera: Nikon F4S, Nikon AF and AF-D lenses.
Film: Lomography 400 C-41.
