Toronto Photo Walks Riverside-Corktown Photo Walk March 2026 Part Two
I know the snob segment of the Leica rangefinder community look down on third party glass, Light Lens Labs, makes great lenses. Voigtlander has made M mount lenses since the very late 1990s and I'm blown away with the results from 28 F2.8 Color Skopar and the 90 F2.8 APO-Skopar lenses.
The reason why I picked up the 28 F2.8 Color Skopar because I can't use the Light Lens Lab 9 element 28 F2.8 "Elmarit", bad things would happen as in you demolish the meter sensor. You don't have that problem with the Color Skopar lens. I reserve the Light lens Labs 28 for my M6 and use the Voigtlander on my M2 and M5, the M4-2 is neutral ground.
My 28 F2.8 Color Skopar is great for street work and architecture. The 90 F2.8 APO-Skopar is a short-sh telephoto lens, a lower cost alternative to the 90 F2.8 Elmarit. The construction is solid and the one frame I did shoot on this series was nice and sharp, I think I was around F8 in aperture. I need to try that lens for portraiture and selected landscapes.
