Harmon Phoenix Mk 2, the Rise of a New Era

I remember early in July Neil at Graination hinted at some new films hitting the lab shelves but was quite evasive. The cat fell out of the bag the same weekend as the 10th Anniversary Classic Camera Revival Photo Walk, my friend John Roberts was staying with me and he found out on Reddit that Harmon was going to be releasing Phoneix 200 Mk2 or 2.0 (use what works for you). The box colour changed from red to blue. Well there was a press embargo so someone within the Canadian photo retail community spilled the beans, as a fromer public relations and marketing communications consultant, I always thought media embargos prior to launch date for a product or service was hard, if not impossible to police.

All that said, Phoenix 200 Mk2, what's still the same? Well you still need to overexpose intentially down to 100-125 ISO,  calling it 200 is just marketing, whey? Ask Harmon. That's about it, new packaging, new and much more stable dye couplers, super easy to scan. Harmon nailed it with Phoenix Mk2, I think the only things that need taming is to make the grain finer, not the grain in this film was bad.  I will be buying more.

Camera: Nikon FE, Nikkor Ai 50 f2 lens.

Film: Harmon Phoenix 200 Mk 2 rated 100 ISO, processed at Graination Lab.
