First Toronto Film Shooters FB Group Meet Up of the Season Part Two

Image
The day started dismal, and after lunch it cleared off, it stayed cold however. The first spring Toronto Film Shooters Facebook Group photo walk since things opened up was a success. The game plan this year is to explore different parts of the city we haven't been to before. That said, we start our walks off with coffee and end with beer, or wine. Finding the start and end points is half the adventure. All that said, I'll have to come up with another walk where the end point is the Granite Brewery.  Camera: Nikon F2AS, Nikkor Ai lenses.  Film: Ilford HP5 400 pushed to 1600 ISO, Ilfotec HC 1+31.

We had a great turn out for the first Spring Toronto Film Shooters Facebook Group photo walk. We put things on ice over the winter when Covid was raging on and lockdowns were the rule in Ontario. The weather honestly was distressed battleship steel skies.  The camera of choice of course was the one I brought in for the weekend, the Nikon F2AS, which is the pinnicle of the F2 line. I'm going to shooting a lot with this camera over the Summer.  Camera: Nikon F2AS, Nikkor Ai lenses.  Film: Ilford HP5 400 @1600, Ilfotec HC 1+31.

Haven't shot with the F2AS in a while, Nikon hit it out of the ballpark with this camera. Think of it the pinnacle of the F2 line in the late 1970s before the F3 came out. I've filled out my Ai mount lens collection and plan to shoot with the F2AS and F2A often this Summer.  Walking up the centre of Toronto still yields interesting photographic opportunities even if Condos are taking over the landscape. North of College John and I went west over to Bay St. which is even more of a concrete canyon than Yonge with both condos and Ontario Government office buildings. It's St. Nicholas St. between Bay and Yonge St. that's interesting, something forgotten, filled with row houses.  Camera: Nikon F2AS, Nikkor Ai 35 F2 lens.  Film: Kodak Gold 200.
