Yorkville, October 2022

Yorkville is an interesting part of Toronto, decades ago it was THE neighbourhood for hippies and the folk scene that nurtured Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell while Yonge St. was where the rock crowd hung out. Now, it's the glitzy "Celebraty Petting Zoo" as I want to call it. As a neighburhood to photograph, it has layers of Victorian village, along Bloor St. and just north, modernist office buildings and apartment towers and more recently the high rise condo boom within the past decade.
