NLP 2025 Part One.
No Light Pollution or NLP is a long running photography retreat that stemmed from Sheridan College's continuing education photography certificate and a group of former Oakville Camera Club members. I got invited to go back in 2013 and have been coming up since. I invited Jo-Anne up in 2022 and the rest is history.
Now living in Toronto ironically its a lot easier to leave, a drive up the 404 to the end, cut over to Lakeridge Road and continue north to Beaverton where the true start point begins. We have breakfast at the Shortiss Cafe/Bar and then drive east to Highway 35 and head north from there. The first rest stop was in Minden where Jo Anne and I had lunch at Boshkung Brewing and an ice cream at the local Kawartha Lakes Dairy. The second rest stop was at in Dorset, and I'm still doing my best to try and capture Robinson's General Store on film.
Weather wise was all over the place, the rig of choice was my Nikon F4 and a collection of lenses. I chose to shoot colour only this year and went with Eastman Kodak Vision 3 250D motion picture stock repurposed as a still film. Helps to have Graination being the ECN2 lab outside the motion picture industry.
Camera: Nikon F4, Voigtlander 40 F2 Ultron SL II Lens.
Film: Eastman Kodak Vision 250D, ECN2 Processed at Graination Lab.
