NLP 2025 Part Three
We lingered a bit at the top of the Oxtongue River falls, I wnt to town with the water relections, then went back to Billie Bear where we're staying. This one of my my happy places, Billie Bear Resort has a lot of history beginning as a Fishing camp and lodge. Before it's current incarnation the previous owner had a small fleet of aircraft, a helicopter which was more a personal toy and float plane, my guess a few De Haviland Beavers for flying guests to their remote fishing spots.
That all changed in the 1990s when Billie Bear got sold and went from fishing camp to cottage resort.
I love Billie Bear, it's not Deerhurst and not meant to be, it's real Muskoka, not show biz Muskoka and long may it remain as such.
Got a chance to try out the Nikkor AIS 180 F2.8 ED lens on two shots, this is a nice lens, but it's a heavy bit of glass. Something I would think twice to take on an extended hike. If anything next year I'm going to take the AIS 80-200 F4 Zoom lens and leave the 105 F2.5 home as well.
Camera: Nikon FM2n, Nikkor AIS mount lenses.
