  Talk about a bright Saturday, we had some errands to run around Summerhill and Deer Park (grabbing some wine from the LCBO and some birthday presents from Book City), it was a nice day for shooting if on the cool side. I was just happy to see the sun. While it wasn't the coldest winter on record, it was the gloomiest. I can live with blue skies without any little fluffy clouds to break things up. Again, I was shooting with Kentmere 400, only this time with my chrome Nikon F2AS, one brilliant 1970s vintage pro body SLR Not one bad exposure.  We worked our way back up Yonge St. to Yonge and Eglington for the afternoon to prep dinner. It was just a beautiful sunny Saturday, and we'll take it.  Again, I've been reading how people are having trouble getting decent shots out of Kentmere 400, this film needs a yellow filter in 35mm and I have not had the opportunity to shoot in 120.  Camera: Nikon F2AS, Nikkor AIS lenses.  Film: Kentmre 400, Ilfotec HC 1+31.  ...

Welcome to the April Frugal Film Project roll and I was shooting close to home around Oakville which I haven't done much of late. One question I do get is how do I get such nice results from Kentmre 400? The film in question has a reputation of being rather flat. The solution is a yellow filter. I then get the pop I need for crisp negatives. it also helps the primary lens I've been using this project is the early 1970s vintage Nikkor H.C 50 F2 lens. That particular glass is one of Nikon's best lenses and use it a lot on my Nikkormats and Nikon F's.  Camera: Nikkormat Ftn, Nikkor H.C. 50 F2 lens.  Film: Kentmere 400, Ilfotec HC 1+31. 

 For colour film coated 20 years and freezer stored, Agfa Optima 100 in 120 format just delivers, and I got another brick of it from a generous friend. Now, I have shot a bit of this film and gifted two rolls to my brother Alex so he can enjoy this film. Of course I shot it from my Rolleiflex 3.5 F, and I plan to shoot more with this film. I want to shoot this combo down in Niagara on the Lake when there's a bit more greenery.  Camera: Series F Rolleiflex Twin Lens Reflex Camera, 75 F3.5 Zeiss Planar Lens.  Film: Agfa Optima 100, expired in 2004 and freezer stored.
